Craig Wilson’s Moonan Flat ride

I got an invite for a mid week Adventure ride with Mean Dean and Gibbo. The idea was simple, take Marty H’s new Dualsport Australia disc and ride the Moonan flat loop. Now many of us have purchased these discs off Marty H but I am not sure how many of us have actually gone out and used it. We started off at Gibbo’s bar after work and went about loading the data from the…

Blog: May 5. Been riding the desk

Is it frigging cold, or WHAT? It’s not that bad I suppose, but after a nice Summer and a very mild Autumn, these last couple of days have been a bit of a shock. It’s time to start thinking about preparing for some cold riding. D’oh. I hate being cold. I’ve been hammered by work this week, so haven’t been on a bike at all. There was a pony express scheduled at Uralla for today…

Matt and Chris Foster’s Dust Buster Easter Ride

The Tiger was hungry, and overdue, for a feed of dirt roads and the aging Dust Rat (DR650) was about to click over 80,000kms and 10 years – and still wasn’t run in. We headed off from Bellingen on Saturday mid-morning with the destination being the Mann River, Dalmorton. We made our way via Dorrigo, Megan, Cascade and Platypus Flats, where we ran into Nigel Locke and his single-track crew taking  a break. After a…

Blog: April 28. The Poker Run takes shape

This week makes up for all the times I’m late. It’s only Friday arvo and here I am. Can anyone else believe it was a year ago today we headed off on the Cameron Corner Caper? It’s been a fast year. Of course today is a public holiday, but I’m at my desk trying to catch up on work. This morning, though, Pottsy took me for a lap around ‘the southern loop’ he has set…

A Marty Hardcore teaser

Marty H sent some pics and captions but no story. He’s obviously been out with Spark, so maybe we’re better off not knowing too much! It looks like the guys had a great time, and with Spark in the lead you can bet the riding was awesome.

Karen Ramsay at the Inverell Motorcycle Restorer’s Rally

Here’s a few pics from the Inverell Motorcycle Restorer’s rally ride to Emmaville. Dave and I rode up with Craig H to Tenterfield via Rocky River. Despite a few washouts, the road was pretty good overall and it was great to see the countryside greening up. Craig left us at Tenterfield so we took the tar to Emmaville. Over 200 bikes were registered for the day. They really did range from the sublime to the…

Blog April 21: Easter.

Yo everyone. It’s Easter Sunday as I write this, a beautiful sunny day. Anyone with half a brain would be out riding today if they could. I’ve been away working for a couple of days, and I’m knackered. No riding for me today. Fortunately, Craig Murcott and I stole a couple of hours to take the 2014 Triumph 800XC Tiger for a couple of pics during the week, and I used it as a camera…

Blog: April 14. Catch up.

I sold everyone short last week because I’d been away for a few days and had a hellish week to try and catch up. I haven’t really caught up, but it’s Sunday and I figure I can take a break for a few minutes to share a little time with riding friends. I posted a few pics from the Touratech Travel ride, so you should have a good idea of how that went, but the…

Blog: April 7. Late.

The blog is late. I’ve been in Victoria riding with the Triumph guys at an event called Touratech Travel, and thanks to a sensational bike – the Tiger 800XC – and some rain, it was a brilliant ride. I cocked up my flight bookings, though, and that meant I lost a day yesterday, and now I’m going like a cut cat trying to catch up. What a pain in the exhaust port! I really don’t…

The Scrapheap Challenge

September 19-21 is the Scrapheap Challenge, and I’m going to try and get up to Nymboida for at least a day to show support, and to check out some if the wild bikes and even wilder people. Is anyone else heading up there? It’d be cool to get a group together to head up there. The ride to Nymboida alone makes it worthwhile, but the Scrapheap bikes can be pretty amazing as well. Here’s some…
