Blog: March 30. Smokin’!

The mighty Dominator has had a setback. It still got me home – of course! – but it’ll need some looking at. First things first, though. Marty HC and I were scheduled to spend the weekend shooting pics and checking routes for the upcoming ‘Fish’n’Ride’ disc. Because I’m under a lot pressure from work at the moment, I woosed out of the weekend ride, and we tried to combine some work with at least a…

Blog: March 23. A day off!

It’s Sunday morning, and due to some bad weather I find myself with an unexpected day off. It’s a relief after a hectic couple of weeks which haven’t included much riding. I’ve had plenty going on, just not much of it actually riding. The best ride this last week was a trip in to see Paul and Cindy at RadGuard. I took work’s 800XCx so the RadGuard guys could fit a radiator guard and shoot…

Blog: March 16. Granite Crumble looking good

Morning All, It’s Monday morning and I’m the middle of a fairly demanding couple of weeks. No riding, unfortunately, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. Dave Ramsay’s Granite Crumble ride is looking like a big one, with the accom almost booked out. Dave sent an e-mail this morning to say there was only one room left. Have a look at his post for the details. Sorry, folks, but I have a great deal going…

Monster ride report: Pottsy’s Ultralight Adventure

Well, it’s now been a week after the first Ultralight ride. I’ve been slack and just plain too busy to sit down and go over all that happened over the day. I suppose it all started happening the day before , with a phone call from Nick who was riding down from Lismore with Adam on their Hondas. All I got was a message on my phone: ” Hi Pottsy. Broken chain somewhere south of…

Blog: March 8. Granite Crumble is set to rock.

It’s Sunday arvo after of a big week. First I rode work’s Triumph 800XCx to Sydney and back on Thursday, and it was a real treat. I’m not too fussed about riding the Pacific or Hume Highways in general, but the weather was so nice, and the bike so smooth and enjoyable, I thought I’d give it a shake. I did the right thing. The temperatures was perfect, and riding back under the full moon…

Ultralite Adventure: The early word.

From Pottsy I think the ultra light ride was a success, I will do a proper report in a few days but briefly… Marty was up to his old tricks and he lost one of the Lismore boys, but we found him quickly. Briggsvale road was at its slippery best, there was green moss on the red clay. We bumped into Matt Osland at Tyringham.Care should be made when fitting Acerbis long-range tanks. Ask Jonah…

Blog: March 1. Summer’s shot.

It’s the first day of…Autumn, I think. Summer’s finished, so it’s whatever comes next. That’s good in a way, because it should mean temperatures will moderate, and after yesterday – Saturday – in Grafton, I need it to moderate to buggery somewhere 10 degrees lower. I haven’t been in leathers for over a year, and yesterday I sweated buckets on what really wasn’t an overly hot day. I took my new little road racer up…
