Blog: June 24. Been riding in Lithgow

OldBullRideLithgow036This will be really fast because I’m being hammered by work at the moment.

I rode an Old Bull Ride in Lithgow on the weekend, and it was awesome dualsporting. It was all mapped on a GPS, and my boss lent me his old Garmin MAP62S. It was SO much easier to use than my Etrex. I’ll have to get one.

It was cold riding, but I was expecting that and was prepared, so that was no problem. It was really great to catch up with a heaps of people I hadn’t seen for a long time. I won’t be a name-dropper, but there were some great riders among them, and it was great to see them enjoying something that must’ve been no challenge to their talents. They were just enjoying themselves, pure and simple.

I have pics and some video, but I’m really frigging short of time, so you can go to http://www.advridermag.com.au/forum/showthread.php?130-NSW-Lithgow-to-Orange to have a look.

PS: I know! I know! You all want the challenge rides. I promise I’ll start on the first one this weekend. TF

Looked like it was a great ride, & you missed the truly bad weather that’s turning up down there tonight. Unlike old mate on your ride that hit the bad wether & broke his ribs. Please note our weather up here was prefect this weekend. I think the first challenge is to find the time to organize our first one , after that other idea’s will flood in. We are all keen & Karen’s new bike is on it’s way !!
