Blog: December 29. That’s the year done.

KawasakiKLR650_068I’m not sure when I kicked off the DualsportAustralia site, but I remember I was between jobs, so I have a fair idea.

Whatever.

It’s been a great year, and I can honestly say my memories are all good ones. The One-day Challenges have been a hoot, a couple of Gav’s rides have been even hootier, and the people I’ve met through the site have all been fantastic. We now have a bit of a core group of dead-set champions who make the rides just fabulous, start to finish.

I’ve also enjoyed watching Marty H get his discs up and running. That’s been a big effort over a long period.

Anyhoo, not to be all boring about it, but thanks to everyone for a great year, one way or the other.

Looking at the year coming, I botched the fitting of the pannier racks to the mighty Dominator and had to ask Dan Vaughan to see if he could repair everything and fit the racks for me. I dropped the bike to him before Christmas and hoped he might get it done early in the new year. He must’ve done the job straight away, because the bike’s ready. I’ll pick it up ASAP, and I can’t wait to get roosting into 2014. I have another one of my hare-brained ideas for a ride. After I’ve turned it over in my mind a little I’ll get the details sorted and see if anyone’s keen.

Meanwhile, in what seems a very strange thing, I have a near-new DriRider jacket here that I’m happy to give away. It’s size ‘Large Euro 52, Chest 107cm’, and the liner’s included. The colour is grey and black. It has some dust on it where it’s been in the back of my van for a couple of weeks, but I suspect it’s only been worn once or twice.

Free to a good home. The only favour I ask of you all is that it goes to someone who needs it. If you have a good riding jacket, leave this one to someone less fortunate than you.

That’s all for this week. Have a great New Year’s everyone.
