Saturday’s Sscrapheap run

This from from Dave Ramsay on the plan for tomorrow’s Scrapheap ride:

“We will be leaving at 10.00am from the Canoe Camp and heading to Copmanhurst via Ramornie.

Chris and Dave have kindly offered to bring the work ute as sweep pickup, and we’ve organised a Scrapheap special pub lunch of roast beef or pork rolls with salad and chips for $10 per person. There’ll be enough for 100 so I hope plenty come along.

We’re planning on getting to lunch at about 12:30-1.00pm. We’ll be able to feed everyone fairly quickly this way, and then head back on track to camp via Kangaroo Creek and Laytons Range if the storms stay away.

See you Sat morning.

Cheers Dave”

Dave also sent a couple of pics…

Alrighty!

This promises to be a great day or two.

For those wanting to head up from Coffs, Marty H is leading a group from the Wimpy. Be there with a full tank of fuel, ready to ride away, at 7.30am tomorrow.

That’s leave at 7.30am – not stand around pulling your pud and drinking coffee from the new machine (even though it’s not too bad) at 7.30am.

  1. Is that the Husky Karen is on? Now if you ever wanted a “rare as hen’s teeth” example, that would be it.

  2. Terra Alert. Yes it’s back from Nerang & Karen rode down to Nymboida early Sunday morning. Good as new & only took the best part of 5 months to sort out. Means I’ll get to throw my leg over the DR a bit now.

  3. I’m considering putting the Terra on the endangered species list. Also, if Dave thinks he’s getting to the DR now, he’s dreaming. I can’t risk the fragile Terra by actually riding it too often.

  4. Well hello! 500k on the DR yesterday was just a foggy dream was it? We squirmed & slid our way around Pickapeen to Basket Swamp then Boonoo Boonoo then found some more great tracks up round Maryland, before racing home via Woodenbong. At the risk of upsetting my sophisticated European F800 girlfriend, I did have mobs of fun on the DR & plan on taking her out for more dirty slippery fun soon. I now know where Pottsy gets his passion from.

Thinking up another ride up this way in early Nov, Basket swamp, Girraween & some great tracks out the back of Stanthorpe, might plan on camping out instead of pub.
