Hey, everyone.

I don’t want to bore everyone with my opinions and so forth, but in my defence I’m hoping to find dualsporters who want to share ideas, rides, insight on equipment and so forth. I figure the way to get that started is to chuck a few thoughts out and invite everyone to either shoot me down or contribute thoughts of their own.

So here we go.

The thing that’s taking up a lot of thought at the moment is the ANZAC day run out to Cameron Corner. The response has been encouraging, and we look like having a good crew. The thing that’s interesting is the number of experienced and hard-core riders who are aiming to do the ride. That’s a bonus, I reckon, because there’ll be a really good ratio of experienced guys to novices. And even the ‘novices’ seem pretty steady. The ride is shaping up to be a really enjoyable few days and I’m looking forward to it.

Another ride coming up is a day with Marty Hardcore to run some of the GPS route between Bellingen and Willawarren. That’s a superb day’s riding, and Willawarren is brilliant destination. I haven’t been out on the Dominator fo ages, so I’m really looking forward to that one, too.

Finally, I said we – Marty H and I – were heading up to Inverell on February 9 to do the Scrapheap fundraiser. Something’s come up and I can’t get to that one. I’m planning to head up there early in the morning to see the ride kick off and say hello to a few champion people who’ll be there, but I’ll have to bolt straight home from there. I’m actually planning to run my Yamaha cruiser up and back, and that will rock! It’s a brilliant run up the road through Dorrigo, Guyra and in to Inverell. It’s not dualsporting, but it’s still awesome.

What about the sale of Husqvarna to Pierer Industry AG?

I still haven’t seen anything that convinces me this is 100 per cent genuine, but there’s enough internet chat that it’s valid to talk about it. The rumour started off saying Husqvarna was to be sold to KTM, but that’s now been refined. It’s supposedly being sold to Pierer Industry AG. KTM’s CEO has a substantial shareholding in Pierer Industry AG, and for internet forum gossipers, that’s close enough.

I reckon it’s a wild possibility and I’m enjoying some of the chatter.

Got any thoughts on any of this? Got something you want to blab on about? Got a ride coming up and you want to find some people to join you? Use the comment panel at the bottom of the page here and I’lll post anything genuine or interesting.
